New weight loss and energy programme arrives at next generation (dartford/carlton)

January 2004

Next Generation Clubs at Dartford and Carlton, London W2, are the first UK health and fitness clubs to launch Novo, a revolutionary weight management programme from Immogenics that applies the latest science and technology to controlling weight and boosting energy levels.

Novo is a new, bespoke weight management programme based on an entirely new understanding of the cause of excess weight. It introduces the scientific theory that we gain or lose weight depending on our immune response to food and the fact that any adverse immune response severely impacts on our ability to convert food and stored fat into energy.

Novo, has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to reduce body weight by as much as 10% in as little as five weeks without reducing calorie intake. The programme already boasts a number of celebrity advocates including Sir Geoff Hurst, fitness guru Ali Cockayne, Spurs footballer Guy Poyet and Dr Ann Lady Redgrave, wife of Sir Steve Redgrave.

Next Generation, the visionary health and fitness club concept, will offer Novo initially in their Dartford and Carlton (London W2) Clubs. This will roll out to their other 8 clubs across the UK shortly after.

"At Next Generation, we adopt an individual approach to planning and designing each Club to ensure that they are totally unique and tailored to the local area," said Patrick Coote, Head of Marketing at Next Generation Clubs. "In the Novo programme we recognise a product that is tailored to the individual. This will allow us to offer each of our members a bespoke programme that matches their individual requirements."

How does Novo work?

Novo takes a small blood sample from each client and using some of the most advanced screening technology available, makes a highly detailed analysis of that individual's immune response to 115 common foods. The client then receives a bespoke diet programme based on eliminating those foods that cause the greatest interference with their immune system. By reducing or eliminating these the body can convert stored fat into energy more efficiently so losing weight and increasing energy levels.

"Novo is all about using energy efficiently, rather than restricting energy intake in the form of calories. There is no need to go hungry, eliminate whole food groups like carbohydrates or laboriously calculate calorie intake and expenditure. This allows everyone to still eat a healthy and balanced diet," said Clare Dodgshon, consultant nutritionist.

"I strongly believe that what you put into your body has a significant impact on the whole of your life and health," said Ali Cockayne, celebrity fitness instructor. "I chose to follow Novo not just for weight loss, but also for the health and energy benefits. Since following Novo my weight has stabilised, I generally feel lighter, I no longer feel sluggish and don't get bloated any more."

Novo retails at £350 and is available at Next Generation Clubs in Dartford and Carlton, London W2. Consultations can be arranged via an on-line automated booking facility at www.immogenics.com or by calling the customer services line on 0031 46 45 72 800.

In addition to the individual diet programme, clients also receive a support pack which includes in-depth help notes, written by a qualified nutritionist. The programme is supported by the Web site www.immogenics.com which provides useful tools and advice e.g. menu planner.
