How Does NOVO Work?

It starts with an in-depth analysis of your cells.

NOVO was created to analyse and identify the potentially harmful influences caused by specific food sensitivities in your own body.  Using state-of-the-art blood laser technology from ABBOT Laboratories, we can detect your specific immune reaction to 115 individual food types. Under laboratory conditions and with laser equipment, your white blood cell and platelet activity are observed for 1 hour 15 minutes – a process which involves over 2.5 million interfaces with your blood cells.

The results of this analysis are split into lists of foods, ranging from those which are well tolerated (green) to those on your trigger list which appear in order of immune response severity, with the strongest at the top.  NOVO then develops a personalized nutrition plan which dictates which individual foods are to be avoided by you, which foods can be eaten by you and which foods should be gradually reintroduced to complete the final picture. No blood analysis can be 100% accurate, which is why there will be foods on your trigger lists which must be gradually reintroduced to assess whether they are ultimately closer to ‘red’ or ‘green’ foods. The nutrition plan should be conducted over a period of ten weeks in order to allow your immune system to recover as fully as possible.   But it can be maintained for a couple of years, as a way to enhance your wellbeing.   Retesting is advised every few years, as the body’s biochemistry is in a constant state of flux.

The first phase of the Nutrition Plan lasts up to six weeks.  A qualified Nutritionist is on hand to help you through the process together with a trained customer service team if you need it.   Detailed Help Notes are provided to guide you through you personalised eating plan and suggest where to shop and what to cook. During this phase, your body’s renewal of healthy white blood cells is taking place. As the immune system is no longer being activated by foods, the immune system becomes less stressed and begins to strengthen. This process can be accompanied by some mild side-effects such as fatigue, muscle aches and headaches, but symptoms usually disappear within a few days.

The second phase is concerned with the re-introduction of foods that were deemed to generate an immune response.   During this second phase, your body will tell you which foods are tolerated well and which are not.  You body does this via feedback mechanisms i.e. headaches, nausea, low energy – which is your body’s way of telling you which foods to avoid in the future and which foods agree with your system.

This programme and process aims to reduce activation of the immune system to foodstuffs in your body, leaving it stronger to protect you against viruses, bacterial overgrowths and carry out all its other important functions more efficiently. At the same time, this process allows maximum energy (glycogen) into the cells (i.e. increasing the efficiency of the metabolism) which leads to reduced appetites and an increase in energy and weight loss. Conditions such as headaches and IBS improve as a result of a stronger and less-activated immune system.
